Nigeria: Alake Commends Globacom for Supporting Cultural Festivals

The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo has commended Globacom for partnering with Nigerian communities to sponsor cultural festivals in the country.

Oba Gbadebo who stated this on Wednesday while receiving the sponsorship cheque for the 2013 Lisabi Festival in his palace, said Globacom had taken the Lisabi Festival to hitherto uncharted heights by evolving creative programmes for various segments of the Egba community since it took over the sponsorship of Lisabi Festival last year. He expressed the willingness of all Egbas to continue to partner Globacom and prayed that "the company would never go down."

The paramount ruler requested for special GSM numbers to be tagged 'Lisabi Lines' for all Egba indigenes and also produce special Egba traditional songs as caller tunes.

While presenting the cheque earlier, Globacom's Director, Gloworld Development, Mr Bisi Koleosho said "Globacom has been supporting major festivals in the country to preserve our unique cultural heritage."
