Angola: Agriculture Sector in Bié Province Absorbs Over 600 Million Kwanzas

Kuito — Banking financing to the agricultural sector in 2012 reached just over 656.5 million kwanzas, in the ambit of the government's programme dubbed Campaign Credit, informed on Wednesday the governor of the central Bié Province, Álvaro Manuel de Boavida Neto.

The financing went to 12 co-operatives and 44 peasants associations, in a total of 2.225 associates.

The amount, said the governor, was used to buy agricultural production tools, seeds, fertilizers and other means.

He appealed to peasants to respect the agreement they made with banks, by respecting the deadlines for the reimbursing of the loan.
