Gambia: Ibou Targets Club Success Over Goal Galore

Ibou has said he prioritizes club success over personal glory on the heels of recent drought on goal. He is in contention for the league golden boot with Colombian star Bacca and has so far sixteen league goals to his name. He trails his goal rival by two goals.

But the Gambian said he is not carried away by his new found goal scoring prowess and down plays his competition with Bacca rather, preferring club glory over personal achievement.

"Club achievement most important than goals. I mainly play for fun and for that of the supporters. Besides I enjoy the happiness of the fans after a victory. [We just] want points" the Gambian told Newswalden having played five league matches without a goal.

Ibou made it from the start but his involvement did little to avoid Leuven from a 3-1 defeat to Club Brugge.

The 26-year-old Gambian was a subject of transfer target as he was linked with Ukrainian and Russian clubs.

Dnipro handed in an offer but the OH Lueven club board described the proposal below their valuation of the Scorpion attacker.
