Gambia: Badu B to Drop Solo Album Today

A former member of the defunct 'Da- Loud African Speakers'-(Da -LAS Boys), who makes a musical comeback last year, is launching his much anticipated solo album this Friday 2013 at the Alliance Francaise Gambienne along Kairaba Avenue.

Badu B, and widely known by his music sobriquet 'Gangalee' believes this forthcoming event will further enable him to consolidate the lost glory his former group was unable to make while at the same timeaccord him more recognition in his quest to make it to the country's music pinnacle.

The album entitled 'Rise and Fall' comprises of 9 tracks sound and was superbly crafted at various recording studios in the country most notably -Sun Land under watchful eyes of Hakeem and Mandela Records among a host of others.

In an interview with What's On, Badu B explained that he may not be well known at the moment in the Gambia but was in the music business since in the 90s and that his music now is stronger than before. He was quick to say that the album is a matured album and it consists of positive messages stressing that after the releasing of his album, he will be involved in lot of projects among them is sponsoring the needy ones.

Asked why he name the album after 'Rise and Fall', Gangalee as fondly call, further outlined that the album is full of positive messages for his people. He then urged music enthusiasts to listen to the message in the album as they are strictly reggae songs. "I got videos as well and they are shot professionally by the Tedugal video production company. I also got very good collaboration songs with artist like Saka Babs and Pa Mboob.

I mostly listen to one of the songs call "We Gona Make it" in the album, I did that song 2 times because Shy Boy recorded the song for me and Hakim remixed the song for me. That song is for Gambian artist themselves telling them to be conscious with their singings and let them sing something genuine, something that can help the younger generation".
