Gambia: Mighty Joe to Stage Fans 'Thank You' Concert

Following the successful launch of his much anticipated double album, a rising Gambian reggae dancehall star is set to stage what he described as a "Thank You' concert to return gratitude to his fans who turned up during his double album launch. Mighty Joe aka Tha Tsunami, who is a household name in the country at the moment is not resting on his laurels as he always comes up with electrifying hot singles.

Slated for the 8th and 9th of March 2013 at the Alliance Francaise and Brikama respectively, the event is expected to be another major thriller in the country's music scene. The young musician who is well loved by the Gambian populace said he felt overjoyed that night and felt he should organise something for his fans who showed up during his launching. He added; "I am known to deliver and I am known with surprises so this time again I am calling on my fans to join me at Alliance Franco and Brikama respectively, to attend a show that they will not attend for the rest of the year."

Mighty Joe in an exclusive interview said that he really wants to thank the Gambian leader for his endless support to the country's music in general. "I want to say thank you Mr President and his entire cabinet for not only giving me the courage and the platform to do music but also to many other Gambian musicians."

He further added that his fans have been so supportive to his music since day one and this is the only way he can say thank you to them. "I like to play good music to the people and this time again all the performances will be live band performances featuring lot of other surprising Gambian artist."

Tha Tsunami also used the opportunity to thank someone he regarded as a brother and has been so supportive to his music career over the years in the person of Nfamara Darboe of Child Fund The Gambia. He stressed the fact as a young rising star, support in whatever form is much appreciated to boost his career to the next level. "Every citizen has to contribute a quota to the development of the country and I want to contribute my own quota through music, positive music for the people for that matter."

He promised his fans that he will never let them down further disclosing that promise every year he will release an album and many other surprise with their support.
