Rwanda: Mugesera Acknowledges Kabaya Speech

The trial of Dr Léon Mugesera resumed today in the special chamber of the High Court where the defendant agreed to have attended the Kabaya meeting on Nov. 22, 1992, but said he was coerced into making the infamous speech that forms the basis of the charges against him.

The Prosecutor maintained that the 28-minute speech was however planned and richly elaborated, but Mugesera denies the authenticity of the audio CD brought by the prosecution, saying it's a mere fabrication.
