This year among the names of winners of the twelve best practices of the year award included two Ethiopian farmers. The decision was made by the executive board of UNFPA/UNDP. Helen Clark, Chief Administrator of UNDP, handed over the awards to Aman Hassen, Deputy Head of Ethiopia's Permanent Mission to UN. A statement from the Permanent mission hailed the ward as recognition to Ethiopia's efforts to mitigate climate change adversities and fight drought.
