Angola: Catumbela Airport to Receive 2.2 Million Passengers Per Year

Lobito — The International Airport of Catumbela, in the central Benguela Province, has the capacity to receive annually about 2.2 million passengers, said last Thursday here the Transport minister, Augusto da Silva Tomás.

Augusto Tomás, who spoke at the opening of the ministerial meeting on the Lobito Corridor, said the airport has modern structures and appropriate for air traffic.

This capacity, he said, will have a very significant impact on the local and regional economy, mainly at the level of trade and services, with particular emphasis on tourism.

This air traffic volume will attract investments in the hotels and tourism area, thus boosting the country's capacity of attracting tourists from various parts of the globe, explained the minister.
