Nigeria: Minister Charges Christians to Emulate Christ

Christians in Nigeria have been charged to emulate the virtues of the Jesus Christ, as they observe the period of lent.

The Minister of Interior, Abah Moro, gave the charge in a statement through his George Special Assistant on Media, George Udoh on Thursday.

The christian community begun its time of fasting and abstinence from certain luxuries on Thursday.

The Minister therefore tasked Christians to pray for the growth, development, security and the well- being of the nation as they observe the Lenten season, noting that with their effectual prayers, God will redouble and restore peace and progress in Nigeria.

The Minster also stressed the need for special prayers for those in position of authority especially,for President Goodluck Jonathan.

He said their prayers would go a long way in helping the President realise his transformation agenda.
