Angola: MCT, Microsoft Present Contest

Luanda — The Ministry of Science and Technology (MCT) and Microsoft presented Friday in Luanda a contest called "Imagine Cup 2013 Final Local Angola" to qualify candidate in the computer field from the competing countries for the world contest in St. Petersburg, Russia.

According to the national director of technology development and innovation of MCT, Gabriel Luís Miguel, the contest aims to identify young university students in the areas of computing, with ideas to develop programmes and projects for cybernetics industry.

These works allow the participants to be eligible to compete in April 2 contest in Angola, which will give them the opportunity toqualify for world competition in St. Petersburg, Russia, in July 2013, stressed the official.

Angola is hosting for the first time a final of Imagine Cup local, which was achieved as the result of partnership MCT established with Microsoft.

Others partners also include public and private institutions of higher education represented by respective computing areas. ", noted the official.

According to him, the organising committee of the event is working on dissemination of objectives, with a view to achieving greater participation of students in this education subsystem for the nationwide contest.
