Nigeria: Group Hails PPMC Over Subsidised Kerosene Price

Ughelli — A group, Concerned Deltans for Less Privileged, has commended the Managing Director of the Products and Pipeline Marketers Company, PPMC, Prince Haruna Momoh for approving two trucks of kerosene at subsidized rate for some communities ravaged by the recent flood in Delta State.

Fielding questions from newsmen shortly after a meeting with the group in Ughelli, Delta State, President of the group, Mr. Stephen Ohwokirerhuo noted that the approval paved the way for the product to be sold at N50 per litre to residents of the communities.

He disclosed that the product was made available to the people through Benuaks Services Limited, an independent marketing company, assuring that the product would get to the flood victims.

He appealed to the PPMC MD to see to the approval of more trucks of kerosene to cater for flood victims in other communities in the state, particularly those in Ughelli North and South, Patani, Bomadi, Burutu, Isoko North and South Ndokwa West and other local government areas in the state affected by the flood.

Earlier, secretary of the group, Chief Wilson Edafiadhe, emphasised on the need to make more of the products available to the affected communities.
