Angola: Pavilion Hosts Plastic Arts Exhibition

Havana — A joint exhibition of plastic arts entitled "Reunion", Friday opened to the public in Morro de La Cabanha, under the XXII edition of the International Book Fair of Havana, Cuba, started officially Thursday.

The display includes works of art by Cuban artists Eduardo Roca Salazar , Nelson Domingues, Ernesto Garcia Pena, Rafael Zarza and Rafael Paneca.

The above works come in addition to the creations of local artists Jorge Gumbe, Francisco Vandunem "Van", Amadio Vemba, Antonio Tomas Ana "Etona" , Zuzana David, Kiana, Antonio Toko and João Mabuaca "Mayembe."

An exhibition on Painting in poetry and vice versa" was inaugurated Friday, in homage to the nationalist, poet, physician and first President of Angola, António Agostinho Neto.

The cultural programme of the Angola pavilion at the fair began on Thursday with the inauguration of the exhibition "Culture as a vector of development of Angola".

The event was witnessed, among other figures, by the ministers of Culture of Angola and Cuba, Rosa Cruz e Silva and Rafael Bernal, respectively.

The fair going from 14 to 24 February marks the 160 years of nationalist José Marti.
