Egypt: Telawi, EU Representative Review Women Status After Revolution

Head of the National Council for Women Mervat al-Telawi on Thursday 14/02/2013 held a meeting with Stavros Lambrinidis, EU Special Representative (EUSR) for Human Rights.

During the meeting, Telawi reviewed the women status in Egypt after the January 25 Revolution and hindrances facing women to obtain their rights.

The meeting also tackled the role of the NCW during the current period to advance the positions of women in the country.

The work plan of the council during the coming period was also discussed.
