Tanzania: CAF Wrath Falls On Hafidh Ali

THE Confederation of African Football (CAF) has suspended Tanzania's Hafidh Ali, from the confederations' commissioner list for failure to submit match report.

Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Information Officer, Boniface Wambura said yesterday that the decision was reached by CAF Competition Committee, which met in South Africa on January 17. He said Hafidh, will have to serve the suspension until when he submit to CAF a report on 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier match between Comoro and Libya in which he was the match commissioner.

"According to a letter to TFF from CAF General Secretary, Hicham El Amrani, Hafidh has been suspended from the commissioner's list for failure to submit report of a match no 78 between Comoro and Libya," said Wambura. However, he said, CAF said the decision will stand until when Hafidh Ali submit the report.

Meanwhile, the Mainland Premier League match between Yanga and African Lyon played last Wednesday at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam fetched 68m/-.Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Information Officer, Boniface Wambura said yesterday that the match in which Yanga won 4-0 was attended by 12,147 fans. He said each club pocked 16m/- after deductions, where majority of fans totalling 10,982 paid for the 5,000/- tickets, which earned the majority of the revenue of 54.9m/-

Moreover, TFF has sent congratulations message to the newly elected leadership of the Tanzania Sports Medicine Association (TASMA) under Chairman, Mwanandi Mwankemwa who were voted in on Sunday
