SILENT No More, a faith-based organisation formed to uphold morality is concerned with the current debate on fake condoms.
Our organisation promotes abstinence as opposed to the use of condoms. The appearance of fake condoms on the market is therefore, a clear example that condoms cannot be trusted and those who abstain are safer than those who use condoms.
Our question to those who promote the use of condoms is how can one tell the difference between a fake condom and a 'safe' one?
Secondly, how many people in our nation have used the fake condoms, thereby exposing themselves to sexually transmitted infections, including HIV/AIDS? Thirdly, what psychological effect has the discovery of fake condoms had on condom users?
We have an answer; Zambia is a Christian Nation which should abide by the Christian commandments in the Bible.
We take this opportunity to urge our brothers and sisters to uphold morality because then there will be no need to even discuss condoms whether fake or not.
The issue of condoms has surfaced because people have embraced immorality and it has become a part of life, unfortunately. As a Christian nation our yard stick must be the bible.
The Bible states clearly in Ephesians 5:3-5 3But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people. 4 Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk, or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. James 4:7 also declares that "7 submit you, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8Come near to God and he will come near to you".
The Bible has offered a solution to sexual immorality and that solution is Sexual Purity. Purity will only be achieved by resisting the devil and his weapons; pornography, lust, fornication, adultery etc. The Bible admonishes us to resist the devil, meaning that a battle is raging of which if one is not committed to purity, and such a one will lose that battle. People must fight and repel Satan's weaponry; flee from sexual immorality and tempting situations. It is a matter of making a decision not to look at pornography, not to be found in a compromising position with someone who is not one's spouse and after making that important decision; one must be disciplined to follow through.
As for the unmarried, sex outside marriage must be unthinkable! Singles - flee sexual immorality and instead draw closer to God. If you make God's word the yard stick or the standard for your life you will have the ability to flee and resist the Devil who only comes to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). Wait until marriage as the bible reserves sex for the married only.
3But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people. 4 Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk, or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. 5 For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure, or greedy person--such a man is an idolater--has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
The Bible is clear about sexual immorality; it is not proper for God's people to be involved in sexual immorality or impurity which essentially means the depiction or written description of illicit acts for the purpose of sexual enticement. So when the Bible speaks of immorality or impurity, it is referring to thoughts and activities which are outside of God's purposes and teachings regarding our sexuality; pornography today is found on television, the internet, in printed material, in theatres, on smart phones, and even on some home computers. Those who look at pornography have no control over the lust that comes over them; they give in to the temptation and have to look for the quickest and easiest person to sleep with in order to quench the insatiable lust that has resulted from pornography watching.
In conclusion, it is God's will for us who are called Christians to be sexually pure and holy. The scripture below says it clearly.
1 Thessalonians 4:3-8
3It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; 4 that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, 5 not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God; 6 and that in this matter no one should wrong his brother or take advantage of him. The Lord will punish men for all such sins, as we have already told you and warned you. 7 For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. 8 Therefore, he who rejects this instruction does not reject man but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit.
If we live sexually pure lives, issues of fake or so called safe condoms will not affect us as a nation. ABSTINENCE is the way to go and the best.
