Angola: Minister Highlights Initiative of Angolan Veterans in Russia

Luanda — The Minister of Former Combatants and Motherland Veteran, Kundi Paihama, highlighted on Friday in Luanda the initiative of the Angolan Veterans' Union in Russia in homage of Angolan and foreign citizens during the liberation struggle of the country.

The minister said so during the ceremony of the Memory Day of Russian Internationalists, marked on 15 February in that European country.

During the act, the minister was very emotional by paying homage to all Cuban and Russian pals that he considered friends.

Angop learnt that the tribute was paid to the generals Salviano de Jesus Cerqueira, José Luis Caetano Higino de Sousa "Ze Grabde", Joaquim António Lopes "Farrusco", the Deputy Defence military attaché of Cuba, Colonel Lazaro Triano Bonilla , and interpreter of Russian military mission Vastrikov Konstantia.
