Rwanda: Police Lose to LLB

Police FC started poorly on their debut in the 2013 Africa Confederation Cup campaign, losing 1-0 to hosts Lydia Ludic Academic of Burundi yesterday at Prince Louis Rwagasore stadium in Bujumbura.

The hosts secured the early goal in the first half and even though Police FC dominated the game and made several attempts to find the equalizer, it proved impossible as LLB academic calmly defended their goal.

Police who face a big hurdle in the second leg due on March 2. They must beat LLB to be assured of a place in the first round of a competition that has remained elusive for teams from this region.

The winner of the tie will play against DR Congo's DC Motema Pembe.

Elsewhere, two goals scored by Kipre Tchetche and one by Kassim Abdi were enough to earn Azam FC a 3-1 win over Al Nasir Juba of South Sudan on Saturday in Tanzania.

In Nairobi, Gor Mahia were forced to a goalless draw by Anse Re-Union of Seychelles at the Nyayo National Stadium.
