Uganda: Security Group Cleans Mulago

In appreciation for the support extended to them, Security Group on Saturday led a team of volunteers to clean Mulago hospital.

Company Managing Director Richard Mwesiga said the group, which provides private guards, among other services, was carrying out the cleaning exercise as part of its regular corporate social responsibility programme.

Senior police officer Sam Omala joined the cleaning exercise, leading a team of officers, the Rwanda Muslim Students Association, Mulago School of Nursing and other volunteers. The army of cleaners were able to leave the hospital clean after three hours of work. There was also a tree planting exercise. The hospital will hold its next hygiene day on Saturday.

The hospital executive director, Dr Byarugaba Baterana, urged the public to maintain strict hygiene to avoid the spread of diseases when they visit the hospital.
