Kenya: Poll Monitors Watching the Hotspots

Recurrent conflict displaces thousands of families is northern Rift Valley (file photo).

Observers from various groups have been stationed in most parts of the Rift Valley region to monitor events ahead of the general elections. The European Union, US and Britain are among foreign nations which have dispatched observers to areas which were affected by post-election violence in the last general election.

Transparency International (TI) Regional Manager in Eldoret Richard Maina said they were monitoring the election process and educating voters.
