Kenya: Fire Kills Two Kieni Children

TWO children, including a nine-month-old baby, died yesterday after their house caught fire in Kieni West district, Nyeri county. Nine-month-old Waweru Mwangi and James Maina Mwangi, 9, were sleeping at their three-timber-roomed house when it caught fire at Kiambogo village.

Their mother, Lucy Mwangi, 25, said she left the two sleeping and went to search for firewood at Kiambogo forest. She found the entire house in flames on her return. Nyeri police boss Kirunya Limbitu said nothing was salvaged from the noon blaze.
