Prime Minister Raila Odinga's office was yesterday accused of using its official website to market the Cord coalition. The chairman of the Commission on Administrative Justice Otiende Amollo said the use amounts to misuse of public resources during the campaign period.
Amollo said his commission is also monitoring outgoing ministers and assistant ministers to find out if they are using GK vehicles in campaigns.
He said the ministers were using government aircraft and changing registration plates from GK to private ones.
He was speaking in Karen during a training session for 47 officers from each county who will monitor if government resources are used in campaigns.
"We have been doing this for sometimes and the biggest challenge has been that our monitors are intimidated and at times may not reveal the truth since they support some candidates who are misusing the resources," Amollo said.
He said the officer are educated on the need to name all those misusing public property in order to help save public funds.
Other offices singled out as misusing resources are the Office of the President, the provincial administration, and police who at times become partisan.
He said they are liaising with NCIC and Kenya Human Rights Commission to ensure netting of all those misusing public resources.
