Zambia/Nigeria: Zambia Congratulates Nigeria

ZAMBIA has congratulated Nigeria for winning the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in South Africa last Sunday.

Information and Broadcasting Services Minister Kennedy Sakeni said in Lusaka yesterday that Nigeria's victory was well-deserved as the Super Eagles put up a scintillating performance from start to the end of the tournament.

Sakeni, who is also Chief Government spokesperson, said sport and particularly the AFCON was an important platform for promoting peace and unity on the African continent.

"Government wishes to congratulate the people and government of Nigeria on winning the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa last Sunday.As the people of Nigeria receive their victorious sons back home, Zambia joins them in the celebrating this historic and joyous moment," Sakeni said in a statement.
