Egypt: Awqaf Minister Stresses Necessity of Unity, Relinquishing Violence

Minister of Awqaf Talaat Afifi stressed the need to achieve unity, relinquish violence and enhance amity among Egyptians so as not to give the enemies of the homeland the chance to undermine its stability.

During a Friday sermon 15/2/2013, Afifi called on all Egyptians to put the interests of the homeland above any other consideration and work on unifying their goal for the good of the country, adding that committing to the teachings of Islam achieves the unity of the nation and enhances its power.

Afifi warned against differences that lead to division and said that unifying the ranks is the bedrock of building a modern society.

He called for committing to ethics of dialogue despite differences in opinion and warned against the differences that lead to killing and attacking public and private property.
