Egypt: English Encyclopedia of Religious Sciences for Muslims Launched

Senior Advisor to Grand Mufti of Egypt Dr. Ibrahim Negm announced today 16/2/2013 the issuance of an English encyclopedia for the Islamic religious sciences that satisfies the needs of a large number of non-Arabic speaking Muslims in Europe, the US and Asia.

Negm said that the, encyclopedia which holds the title "Introduction to study Islamic religious sciences", is presented in English in a very simple way and includes thirty domains of Islamic sciences as Quran, Islamic jurisprudence, theology, comparative religion and Islamic ethics studies, research methods in Islamic sciences and many other fields. This is besides tackling a number of modern issues as Jihad, woman in Islam and renewal of Islamic thought, he added.

On commenting on this new achievement, Negm voiced hope that the encyclopedia will help the non-Arabic speaking Muslims to get acquainted with the Islamic sciences and serve as the defense line for the moderate Islamic thought.

"This encyclopedia will stand against the fierce attacks against Islam that are based on misinterpretations and misunderstanding of Islamic Sharia", he added.
