Egypt: Minister - Rural, Train Tourism...a New Approach for Tourism in Egypt

Minister of Tourism Hisham Zazou, during his participation in Italy's Milan International Tourism Exchange held in the period from 14 to 18 February, said that the Ministry is currently implementing several projects with the aim of restoring Egypt's tourism status.

The minister pointed out that the ministry will implement a cameras project to show various tourist areas in Egypt via the internet while offering 28 million square meters for tourist development and projects for investors in Sharm el-Sheikh and Marsa Alam as well as supporting tourism investment in the Northern Coast.

The Minister noted that the ministry will implement the "rural tourism" and "train tourism" as a new approach of tourism in Egypt. He explained that the number of tourists is expected to increase to reach nearly 14 million tourists by the end of 2013 with revenues of nearly USD 12 billion.
