Catholic Church: Foreign criminal investigators to help solve the murder of Catholic priest.

Unknown gunmen killed a Catholic priest outside of his church in Zanzibar on Sunday (February 17th), AFP reported.

"Father Evarist Mushi was blocked by two young men at the entrance of the church; one of the attackers shot him in the head," police spokesman Mohammad Mhina said. "For now, we cannot say what the motives are for the attack, but we have launched search operations for the attackers."

On Christmas Day, gunmen shot and seriously wounded a Catholic priest as he returned home from church. In November, attackers threw acid on the face and chest of a Muslim cleric.

It is not clear if the attacks are linked or religiously motivated.
