Angola: AKZ Coins Start Circulating This Monday

Luanda — The new coins of the Angolan Kwanza are startinmg to circulate this Monday in the market countrywide, according to the managing board of the Angolan National Reserve Bank (BNA).

According to the BNA's governor, José de Lima Massano, about AKZ 1.0 billion in coins will be introduced in the national market.

Coins will start circulating as from this Monday and in March and June it will be availed in the market progressively the notes of 50, 100, 200, 500, 1.000, 2.000 and 5.000 Kwanzas.

The current notes will stop circulating within five years.

BNA advises traders inform clients and others about the use of the national currency of Kwanza, so that the state may spend more financial resources with the production of the new notes before its normal use that is seven years.
