Nigeria: Enugu Rangers Walk Over Opponent in CAF Champions League

Rangers FC of Enugu on Sunday walked over Sporting Club do of Sao Tome and Principe in Enugu.

The visitors failed to show up for the first leg match in Nigeria.

The CAF referees waited for the visitors until the kick off time passed. The centre referee then declared Rangers the winners.

African Cup of Nations medalist, Ejike Uzoenyi, was with the team yesterday as well as during the walkover formalities.

In order not to allow the fans go home without seeing some football, the players were divided into two teams to play a friendly match.

Four players from the team: Alhaji Gero, Emmanuel Daniel, Seun Taro, and Nzube Anazemba are part of the 30-man provisional list released by the U20 national team for the African Youth Championship in Algeria.

Kano Pillars, Nigeria's second team in this years Orange CAF Champions League, also defeated their opponents, Olympique de Bangui of Central African Republic, 5-1, in their first leg match played on Saturday.
