Member of the Salafi (ultraconservative) Nour Party, Bassam al-Rizka, announced his resignation from his post as advisor to Egyptian President Mohamed Mursi on Monday.
The announcement was made during a conference held for Khaled Alameddine to explain himself after being sacked by the president on Sunday, following reports that revealed that he may have exploited his power.
Alameddine was Mursi's advisor for environmental affairs.
