Mamphela Ramphele has declared her intention to form a party political platform for all South Africans.

The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) today welcomed the announcement of the formation of a new political platform, "Agang", by Dr Mamphele Ramphele.

Speaking in Cape Town today, IFP President Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi MP said, "The IFP welcomes Dr Ramphele's contribution through this new party, as it will serve to boost the opposition's ranks in our fight for our fledgling democracy, the rule of law, the sovereignty of our Constitution and our joint efforts to stop corruption, which has become the bane of our country."

The IFP looks forward to working with Dr Ramphele as we join hands on our journey to fulfil our hopes, dreams and vision of a truly prosperous South Africa for all its people.
