Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) girls' football champions Tar Tar girls from West Pokot won the Kitale Open tournament title over the weekend after finishing their matches unbeaten.
In the opening match, Tartar hammered Kitale Technical 8-0 with Ruth Chebungei scoring a massive six goals and Nancy Ejul adding two. Their second match saw the Pokot side beat Weaver Bird 4-0, where Chebungei and Ejul posted two goals each. Chebungei also scored the lone goal in their 1-0 victory over
Eldoret Polytechnic 1-0. All the matches were played at Weaver Bird secondary school grounds in Kitale.
The winners received a trophy and certificates. The tournament is an annual event and is organised by teachers from Trans Nzoia County.
