Kenya: Ballot Papers Arrive in the Country

The IEBC have expressed has said preparations for the general election are on course after the ballot papers began arriving in the country.

The papers are being delivered in batches, with the first consignment having landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on Friday night from UK printer Smith and Ouzman.

Corporate communications officer Tabitha Mutemi yesterday said the arrival of the ballots is a clear indication that everything is on course.

"The ballot papers are in the country and we expect more today (yesterday). There were deliveries on Saturday and Friday," Mutemi said. The ballots were placed under heavy security and immediately cleared by the customs for custody in secret IEBC warehouses.
