Nigeria: Johesu Insists On Minister's Sack

FIVE unions in the nation's health sector have said their campaigns for the sack of the Minister of Health, Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu, is geared towards improving health care delivery system in the country.

Operating under the Joint Health Sector Unions, JOHESU, the five unions dismissed a statement credited to group under the aegis of the "Committee for the Campaign for Good of the Health Workers", which they described as faceless.

In a statement, JOHESU, said it had instructed its lawyers to institute a law suit against the group and its sponsors for libelous publication, over, among others, alleging JOHESU had received N50 million to organise a nationwide rally.

"We have actually been justified by the performance appraisal of Ministers carried out by several impartial bodies in the country. All of them scored the Minister of Health's performance as being abysmally poor. He should take the honourable step of resigning as he has no clue whatsoever for salvaging the health system," the statement remarked.
