Nigeria: Eagles' Uzoenyi to Join Rennes

Super Eagles midfielder, Ejike Uzoenyi will travel to France this week to join Rennes on a six months loan.

Uzoenyi who was part of the history making Super Eagles that won the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa revealed that he will be going to join his new team anytime from this week.

"Yes I will be travelling to France. This deal was concluded long before the Cup of Nations."

Officials of Rangers noted that it is a good thing that Uzoenyi will be travelling as it marks a progress in his career.

"We are happy for him because everything is working well for him. We know he will be a good ambassador for the team and all the players wish him well.

"During the morning training session, he came around and addressed the players. There is excitement among our players that they can also achieve that feat of representing Nigeria in major tournaments.

"We will surely miss him, but we have other players that will continue where he stopped with the team."

Uzoenyi feature in only match against Mali at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
