Liberia: MYS Postpone Nat'l County Meet Awards

The Ministry of Youth and Sports, Event Owners of the annual National County Sports Meet formally announces to the general public of the re-scheduling of the 2013 National County Sports Meet Awards Ceremony, formally slated for Saturday, February 16, 2013 to Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the Samuel Kanyon Doe (SKD) Sports Complex.

The Ceremony which will be held under the distinguished patronage of HE Joseph N. Boakai, Vice President of the Republic of Liberia will constitute 40 exciting awards in all 5 disciplines namely: Football, Kickball Volleyball, Basketball and Track & Field and would be contested for by all 15 Counties to promote healthy rivalry amongst counties and individual performers as well as recognise heroes and heroines through Sports.

For Football: Most Valuable Football Player of the Meet, 2013; Best Defender of the Meet, 2013; Best Goal Keeper of the Meet, 2013; Top Scorer of the Meet, 2013; Most Exciting Player of the Meet, 2013; and Best Young Football Prospect of the Meet, 2013.

Awards for Kickball includes: Most Valuable Kickball Player of the Meet, 2013; Best Kickball Striker of the Meet, 2013; Best Kickball Pitcher of the Meet, 2013; Top Kickball Home Runner of the Meet, 2013; Most Exciting Kickball Player of the Meet, 2013; and Best Young Kickball Prospect of the Meet, 2013.

In Basketball: Most Valuable Basketball Player of the Meet, 2013; Best Basketball Scorer of the Meet, 2013; Best Basketball Assist of the Meet, 2013; Most Exciting Basketball Player of the Meet, 2013; Most Exciting Basketball Team of the Meet, 2013; and Best Young Basketball Prospect of the Meet, 2013.

For Volleyball: Most Valuable Volleyball Player of the Meet, 2013; Best Volleyball Spiker of the Meet, 2013; Best Volleyball Assist of the Meet, 2013; Most Exciting Volleyball Player of the Meet, 2013; Most Exciting Volleyball Team of the Meet, 2013; and Best Young Prospect Volleyball Player of the Meet, 2013.

Track & Field: Most Valuable Male Athlete of the Meet, 2013; Most Valuable Female Athlete of the Meet, 2013; Best Female Young Athlete Prospect of the Meet, 2013; Best Male Young Athlete Prospect the Meet, 2013; Best Male All-round Athlete of the Meet, 2013; and Best Female All-round Athlete of the Meet.

For individual awards: Most Valuable Sportsman of the Meet, 2013; Fair Play County of the Meet, 2013; Fair Play Team of the Meet, 2013; Most Exciting County of the Meet, 2013; Most Exciting Sports Prospect of the Meet, 2013; Best Sponsor Activation of the Meet, 2013;

For the Media: Best Newspaper for Promoting Meet, 2013; Best Journalist for Promoting Meet, 2013; Best Radio Station for Promoting Meet, 2013 and Best TV Station for promoting Meet, 2013.

The maiden edition of the Awards Ceremony is to finally bring down the curtain on the rebranded 2012/2013 National County Sports Meet.
