Angola: Govt to Invest AKZ 250 Million in Water for All Programme

Kuito — Some AKz 250 million is the amount the government of central Bie province will invest in implementation of water for all programme in all province's districts, Angop learnt Monday.

According to the governor of Bié, Álvaro Manuel de Boavida Neto, the investment covers the rehabilitation and reinforcement of water supply system to Kuito from Kuquema river, 18km south of the capital city.

Other projects include construction of water system in the headquarters of districts of Andulo, Chitembo, Camacupa, Chinguar and Catabola.

According to the governor, the initiative will help increase the capacity of the existing systems in above localities.

Drilling holes with solar pumps in large settlements, health and school facilities, as well as staff training, with stress to the operators of water systems, are also part of the project.
