A bomb believed to have been left behind by colonialists was found and detonated in Timau area of Meru county. Area deputy police boss Joel Chebii said that the bomb was discovered by a farmer who was working on his field. The farmer reported the discovery to the police who detonated it.

He cautioned residents to report any other suspicious devices to the authorities and let police handle them.
