Egypt: Chief of Staff - Army Away of Politics

Armed Forces Chief of Staff Lt. General Sidqi Sobhi said the current situation in Egypt is stable, stressing that the Egyptian army is closely following up the latest developments in the country.

The army is completely away of being involved in politics, Sobhi said in an interview with the Dubai-based al-Arabiya news channel on Monday 18/2/2013.

It is necessary to set regulations for practicing freedom and democracy, so that the Egyptians could easily reach the right and desirable path, Sobhi said.
