Egypt: Agricultural Minister - Lands Not for Sale to Foreigners

Minister of Agriculture Salah Abdul Mo'men has said that the usufruct system is the optimal model when it comes to the state-owned land. However, the minister said that no state-owned land will be sold or owned by foreigners, but they can be given on the usufruct system even up to 99 years.

The minister added that the Egyptians will not be allowed to own over 100 feddans.

Once endorsed, the usufruct system will be referred to the Shura Assembly to encode it along with the statue that will include mechanisms of implement it.
