Kenya: Trans Nzoia Youth Benefit From Business, IT Training

A Kitale based NGO, Digital Opportunity Trust has trained more than 1000 youths in Trans Nzoia County on IT and business skills. Area manager Joseph Waweru, said youths from Kwanza, Kachibora and Kiminini are among the beneficiaries so far.

Waweru was addressing journalists in Kitale after the DOT students in conjunction with Kitale Municipal Council and Farm Africa cleaned up Kitale town.

"We are training our youths not to be job seekers but to become businesses starters," he said.He said more than forty five per cent of the trained youths have now established new businesses. Waweru urged those who had completed secondary school to join the one month programme which is free of charge.
