The biggest golf tournament in the region the Barclays Kenya golf open ended yesterday at the Karen Country Club in Nairobi. Spaniard Jordi Garcia Pinto teed himself to the top position and walked away with a trophy and a €31, 200 (Sh3.75 million) a cash prize both presented to him by avid golfer President Kibaki.
The tournament gave local pros like legendary Jacob Okello and newcomers Greg Snow and Dismas Indiza a chance to show their skills and also had fashion events on the sidelines.
The weekend saw hundreds at the hallowed greens of Karen Golf and Country club with executives and socialites mingling in with golf enthusiasts. They included the Toyota Kenya Chairman Dennis Awori, EABL CEO Joe Muganda and legendary golfer Rose Naliaka.
