Kenya: Inmates Undergo Paralegal Training

More than 100 pretrial detainees at the Naivasha annex prison have taken a paralegal training course courtesy of a non-governmental organisation.

Resource Oriented Development Initiatives deputy director Esther Bett, said they conducted the three month training to help detainess understand their cases and represent themselves if need be.

Officer in charge of the prison Yusuf Kaitopok lauded the initiative saying the collaboration has seen majority of the inmates change their attitude toward life. The detainees praised the trainings saying it will give them hope.
