Kenya: Ntimama Responsible for Mau Mess - Sankok

A Maasai leader has defended Jubilee coalition running mate William Ruto against claims that he is responsible for the degradation of Mau Forest complex.

David ole Sankok, they said it is Heritage minister William ole Ntimama, who dished out the forest when he was the chairman of Narok County Council.

Speaking to the press in Narok town yesterday, Sankok said Ruto has always supported the conservation of Mau and other vital water towers in the country. "The forest plunder begun in the 1970s during the Moi administration, when Ntimama headed the council," said Sankok.
