Kenya: Okemo Slams Wako Over Teso

BUSIA County senatorial candidate Chris Okemo has blamed his rival, former Attorney General Amos Wako for historical injustices against the Teso community.

Okemo said Wako watched without taking any action when there was a boundary dispute between Teso and Bungoma districts in which the Tesos lost.

"Wako blocked the release of the Mwangovya Commission report which recommended some parts of Bungoma district carved away be returned to Teso. Is this not injustice?" he posed.

Okemo spoke when he addressed a series of political campaign rallies in various market centres in Teso North constituency at the weekend. Okemo promised to unite the all the communities within the county saying they needed each other in order for the county to prosper.
