Nigeria: David Mark - Failed Politicians Bring Religion Into Politics

Religion and Politics took centre stage at a public lecture delivered at the 10th anniversary of the Sun Newspapers, as the Senate President David Mark accused those he described as 'failed politicians' for bringing in religion into politics.

Also, the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar blamed the introduction of the Islamic Legal System, Sharia in some northern states as political.

In the same manner, the former President of Ghana, John Kufuor blamed politicians with whom he said has vaulting political ambition for using religion to divide society, subjugate other people with the intention of lording it over them.
