Uige — The governor of the northern Uige province, Paulo Pombolo Tuesday asked the families to play their proper role in education of children and fight crime.
The governor made the appeal at the opening of the Broad Consultative Council of the provincial delegation of Home Affairs in Uige.
He said that the family is the fundamental core in the training of man and in combat juvenile delinquency.
Paulo Pombolo expressed concerned about the increase in cases of crimes in recent days in the province and particularly in the capital city, but he would not disclose numbers.
The governor praised the effort of the National Police for providing security and public order and protection of citizens.
The two-day event gathered the commanders of all districts and provincial directors.
