Nigeria: Gov. Aregbesola Promises Sustained Peaceful Co-Existence

Gov. Rauf Aregbesola of Osun said on Tuesday he would create an enabling environment for peace, unity and harmonious co-existence among all religious faithful.

Aregbesola made the statement on Tuesday in Osogbo at a thanksgiving service to mark the completion of the 2012 pilgrimage to Israel..

The governor who was represented by his deputy, Mrs Titi Laoye-Tomori, urged the people to always appreciate God in any circumstances. they might find themselves.

He lauded the state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Nigeria Inter-Religion Council (NIREC) for sustaining peace in the state.

The governor restated his administration's determination not to place one religion above the other, and lauded the pilgrims for their good conduct during their journey.

The governor explained the rationale behind the distribution of uniforms to pupils in public schools, saying "it is for identification and uniformity".

According to him, the gesture is to assist parents who may have difficulties in tackling their domestic expenses.

"The ELLA written on the school uniform is French designer's trade mark which stands for Education, Living, Learning and Advancement," he explained. NAN
