Lubango — The chairperson of Boxing Association of the southern Huila province Daniel Kabango said Tuesday that the tournament's
national sport in both sexes, set to kick off 28 February, will re-launch the sport in the region, after nine years stagnant.
Speaking to Angop, in Lubango city, the official mentioned the benefits the tournament will provide in the province.
The official stressed that the fact of bringing together boxers who evolve abroad the sport will enable the exchange of relations between participants and sport lovers.
On the tournament, Daniel Kabango said the province of Huíla will compete with 12 boxers in the categories between 49 and 91 kgs (men).
The tournament, he said, is also intended to select the Angolan representatives in the African championship of Zone IV, slated from 10 to 15 March this year in South Africa.
Huila has currently over 80 boxers.
