Port Harcourt — IN its effort to deter sharp practices in the distribution of petroleum products, the Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, has shut more filling stations in Rivers State.
DPR, which spread its tentacles in the state since last week, had served various punishment on defaulting dealers as different monitoring teams checking on filling stations in a renewed effort to ensure compliance with prevailing regulations have been going round the state.
The DPR team, headed by Mr. Okon Ukoh, on Bori and Onne axis of the state, sanctioned Global Edge Oil and Gas, Gimason Energy, Nonwa Udeme, and GNM, a Conoil outlet at Onne. They were all sealed for various offences ranging from selling above N97 per litre, under-dispensing, hoarding to diversion of products.
