Nigeria: 'Vice President Not Controlling Yero'

Kaduna — Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero of Kaduna State is not being controlled by Vice President Mohammad Namadi Sambo, the state's Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Saidu Adamu, has said.

Reacting to reports that the governor is being controlled by the vice president, Adamu said Sambo does not interfere in the affairs of the state.

"It is not true that Governor Yero is being controlled from Abuja. The report is baseless. But this does not mean that the governor cannot take advice from the vice president.

He can take advice from anybody, you as a journalist can advise him and the layman on the street can do same for the development of the state," he said.

He urged people of the state to support and cooperate with the governor in order to sustain the peace being enjoyed. He added that the state government would work hard to complete all ongoing projects initiated by the late governor of the state, Mr. Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa.

According to him, not only the projects that were initiated by the late governor, all abandoned projects in the state will be revived for the good of the people.
